A hydraulic transmission jack rated at 1 ton. It supports a gearbox from below while you unbolt it, then lowers it under control instead of you taking the weight by hand.

A gearbox is heavy, awkward and expensive. Dropping one damages the box and can injure whoever is underneath. A transmission jack holds it level on a cradle and lets it down slowly.
