A bar that spans the engine bay and takes the weight of the engine from above while you drop the subframe or gearbox out from below.
When You Need It
On many front-wheel-drive cars the gearbox cannot come out until the engine is held from the top. The support bar rests on the wings and carries the engine so the mount can be removed.
